Getting There
From our home base in Houston, TX, Punta Cana was a short 4 hour plane ride away which definitely makes it a destination we will visit again…soon! Once you land at Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) you can either take a taxi to the resort or arrange transportation on the airport shuttle with the resort before your arrival. Either way, the ride is only about 30 minutes from the airport.
About the Property
The property is located on Bavaro Beach, voted one of the top 25 beaches in the world. So you can imagine the treat you’re in for when staying at Lopesan Costa Bavaro. The resort is perched on 350 meters of beautiful, white sandy beachfront. We’d definitely consider it a hidden gem, as it has been one of Punta Cana’s best kept secrets since it’s grand opening right before the pandemic. One thing we really loved about our stay here is that it is compromised of 3 different areas: The UNIQUE CLUB, Adults Only by Lopesan, and The Resort with each area having it’s own special perks. This gives you the option to choose the type of experience you want to have during your stay.
The rooms
The resort itself consists of 1042 uniquely designed suites. Each room features carefully thought of decor and amenities for maximum comfort, a stocked mini bar, and the bathrooms come with a spacious rain shower and bathrobes. We stayed on the adults-only side in a swim up junior suite, which we highly recommend during your stay here. While there are 7 swimming pools (including an incredible infinity pool) on property, having direct access to our own pool at all times was a huge bonus for us.
Dining
One thing’s for certain is that you’ll never go hungry when staying at Lopesan Costa Bavaro. The resort features 7 a-la-carte, internationally inspired dining venues and a diverse array of cuisines from around the world including Asian, Mediterranean, French, Italian, and more. There are also 2 buffets serving breakfast, lunch, and, dinner daily.
**Pro tip** be sure to download the Lopesan Costa Bavaro app and book your dinner reservations as soon as you arrive on property, as some of the restaurants could book up during your time there. We highly recommend booking a reservation at the property’s hibachi restaurant for a traditional Teppanyaki live cooking. It was by far our favorite meal during our stay and came with excellent service and entertainment.
Activities
There are way more things to do than time will allow for on this property. Think of The Boulevard as Lopesan Costa Bavaro’s personal boardwalk, with loads of shops, restaurants, bars and more. This area on property consists of countless amounts of both day and night time activities for everyone to enjoy. While you can enjoy a relaxing couple’s massage at the Om Spa, or simply enjoy some shopping at the many stores down the Boulevard during the day, you can try your luck at the casino, enjoy a show in the state of the art theatre, or get your groove on at the disco-tech when the night comes alive.
Don’t worry moms & dads, there are also some family friendly-activities for you and the kids to enjoy including the arcade, bowling alley, waterpark, and there’s even a club for kids & teens when you need a little break.
In Our Opinions
When it comes to everything that we search for in a quick romantic getaway, Lopesan Costa Bavaro checked off all of the boxes: All-inclusive, luxury, beachfront, with adult-only sections, and amazing hospitality! It doesn’t get much better than that in our opinion. If we could change anything, it would be the amount of time spent there because a weekend just simply wasn’t enough time.
We highly recommend a stay here to anyone looking to live a soft life in paradise for a few days in Punta Cana.
